Call on Elected Officials
Participation Network members passing resolutions are encouraged to call on their elected officials to support actions that would increase voter turnout and fight against anti-voting tactics that game elections through manipulation of voting rights and election laws. Such calls could include asking lawmakers to stand behind the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and its amendments, which was recently rendered unenforceable by the Supreme Court; calls to state legislators to introduce and promote innovative voting policies that ensure voter choice, such as Instant Runoff Voting; and calls to uphold voting rights and ensure fair and equal representation for every United States citizen.
